Maha Sankatahara Chaturthi: Importance, Significance, and How to Celebrate
Maha Sankatahara Chaturthi is a great day to celebrate Lord Ganesha who is considered to be the most worshipped Hindu God and known by the name of Vighnaharta, or obstacle remover. Devotees observe this vrata with devotion and seek blessings of the Lord to get rid of any difficulties in their lives and have peace. Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha or waning Moon. Out of all the Sankashti Chaturthi days, the day which falls in the month of Magha is specially considered to be very significant.

Generally, the fast is broken in the evening after puja when Moon becomes visible.
