With the release of Udattaraghava, an ancient, distinctive Rama drama in six Acts authored by Mayuraja, our Center has enthusiastically fulfilled a long-cherished dream project of Dr. V. Raghavan.

This book was intended for Dr. V. Raghavan's centennial celebration, which was held in Chennai in 2008 and marked by the release of a press copy of the work. As part of his manuscript searches and surveys, Dr. V. Raghavan, who recognized this ancient Lost Rama drama and found a manuscript of it in 1961, gathered further transcripts of the play. With the exception of a few gaps in the Prakrit sections that he kept for more research and conclusion, Dr. Raghavan finished the critical edition of the book entirely using the substantial information that he had gathered.
