Sri Ramanujar Vazhkkai Varalaru - Tamil | By Swami Ramakrishnananda
• Ramanuja (c. 1017-1137) was a highly influential figure in Hinduism who founded Vishishtadvaita, a major school of philosophy. Recent scholarship suggests his birth may have been earlier than previously thought, possibly by 20-60 years. Some also believe he might have lived longer by about 20 years.
• Ramanuja was a spiritual thinker who wrote a significant commentary on the Brahma Sutras, called the "Sribhashya." This commentary presented an alternative viewpoint to Adi Shankara's Advaita Vedanta philosophy.
• Ramanuja is considered one of the three most important Hindu philosophers, alongside Adi Shankara and Madhvacharya (founder of Dvaita Vedanta). His followers are called Vaishnavas.
