Sivasakthi Keerthana Maalai Volume II of seven volumes is a set of keerthanas composed by Papanasam Rukmini Ramani, daughter of legend Papanasam Sivan and also a composer herself, whose compositions are passionately rendered by several established singers.
Her 2000-plus compositions are spread across the seven volumes of Sivasakthi Keerthana Maalai and are predominantly used by dancers as well. These compositions are dedicated to the deities of six schools of thought in Hinduism.
The Volume II includes ragas including Harikamboji, Darmavati, Dwijavandhi, Arabi, Kharharapriya and Chenchuruti to name a few. Not only is the book handy while enjoying Carnatic music concerts, but also helps aspiring singers to access the authentic notes and render them to satisfy avid Carnatic music rasikas. Rukmini Ramani has dedicated herself to preserving the works of Papanasam Sivan’s works by publishing volumes of his compositions.
