•The Katha Upanishad, an ancient Hindu scripture, is one of the primary Upanishads, forming the concluding eight sections of the Ka?ha school within the Krishna Yajurveda tradition. It is also known as the K??haka Upanishad and holds the third position in the Muktika canon of 108 Upanishads.
• Comprising two chapters (Adhy?yas), each subdivided into three sections (Vallis), the first chapter is considered older than the second.
• Highly regarded and widely studied, the Katha Upanishad's influence extends beyond Hinduism. It was translated into Persian in the 17th century, subsequently reaching Europe through Latin translations.
• Notable Western philosophers such as Arthur Schopenhauer praised its profundity, while poets like Edwin Arnold and Ralph Waldo Emerson found inspiration in its themes, with Emerson integrating its essence into his literary works.
