Brahma Purana: Among the texts which have an important place in Indian life, Puranas are considered very important as devotional texts. Puranic literature is an intact treasure of Indian life and literature. Many stories of rise and fall of human life are found in these. As the Indian mind moved from ritual to knowledge, a continuous stream of devotion flowed. In this process of development, the Indian mind was gradually inspired towards incarnationism or Saguna Bhakti by polytheism and the formal interpretation of Nirguna Brahma. In eighteen Puranas, the stories of sin and virtue, religion and unrighteousness, karma and non-karma have been told considering different Gods and Goddesses as the center.
