You will also need sandalwood paste, kumkum, and a small new saree to drape the Kalash. Prepare a Toram, a sacred yellow thread with nine knots and cook traditional offerings like Puran Poli, vada, and payasam.

The Puja Procedure begins with cleaning your home and drawing a beautiful Rangoli at the entrance to welcome the Goddess. For the Kalash Sthapana, fill the pot with rice, water, and coins. Place the mango leaves around the neck and the coconut on top to represent the deity. Often, a silver or clay face of the Goddess is tied to the coconut.
