Nalayira Divya Prabantham HB - Tamil
The 4,000 Tamil verses that make up the Nalayira Divya Prabandham were written by the 12 Alvars and compiled in their current form by Nathamunigal in the ninth and tenth centuries. The Alwars recited these songs in various Vishnu shrines which are known as Mangalasasana sthalas, as a form of devotion.
This book consists of all 4000 verses in large font, a brief biography of each of the 12 Alvars, a list of significant Srivaishnavite Acharyas, and several supplementary texts written by Vedanta Desika and Manavala Mamunigal. The author, Dr S Jagathrakshakan, is also a politician and ex-MP from Arakkonam constituency.
