Mundakopanishattu - Telugu | By Swami Jnanadananda
• The Mundaka Upanishad, an ancient Sanskrit Vedic scripture, is housed within the Atharva Veda and holds a significant position as one of the primary Upanishads, ranked fifth among the 108 Upanishads in Hinduism's Muktika canon.
•Comprising three parts known as Mundakams, each divided into two sections called khandas, the Mundaka Upanishad delves into various philosophical themes. The first part distinguishes between "Higher Knowledge" and "Lower Knowledge," emphasizing the superiority of knowledge over ritualistic acts for attaining liberation.
•Some scholars propose that certain passages within the Mundaka Upanishad espouse pantheistic perspectives. In historical Indian literature and commentaries, the Mundaka Upanishad is often grouped with other verse-structured Upanishads under categories like "Mantra Upanishad" or "Mantropanishad."
