Lalitha - Vishnu - Lakshmi Sahasranamam - Kannada
• Lalitha Sahasranamam is composed by Ashta Vaag Devis. This is mentioned in Brahamanda Purana and was revealed by Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva to Sage Agastya. It should be understood that reciting this Sahasranama is possible only if Sri Lalitha Parameswari, wishes one to do so. Hence it is considered to be the blessing.
• Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam was given as upadesha to Sri Yudhistra by Sri Bheesma at his death bed, upon his request to know about the Supreme. This is an important part in Mahabarata, where this slokas are divulged in the live presence of the deity (Sri Krishna) in discussion.
• Sri Lakshmi Sahasranamam comes from the Brahmanda Purana, which is one of the 18 puranas that are available. Sanskrit verses in the form of the names of Sri Lakshmi are included. The verses in this namavali that count to 1000 are taken from them.
• Reciting the thousand names of these deities brings the blessings and vigour to overcome the hurdles or problems one faces due to karma. All the purushartas (genuine desires) prescribed in sastras gets fulfilled to those who recite these verses daily. The slokas are given in a bold font, and together, they are easy to recite during poojas and ceremonies.
