A Brief Tale of Lord Ganesha’s Birth:
Legend has it that Goddess Parvati, feeling lonely during Lord Shiva's meditation, created a child from turmeric paste and named him Vinayaka. One day, she asked him to guard the door. When Lord Shiva unexpectedly returned, he was stopped by the boy, who didn’t recognize him. In anger, Shiva beheaded Vinayaka. Parvati, devastated, demanded Shiva restore her son, threatening to destroy the universe. Moved by her plea, Lord Shiva sent his servants to find a replacement head, which they did from an elephant calf. The head was placed on Vinayaka’s body, reviving him. In repentance, Lord Shiva gave him the name Ganesha, the Lord of Wisdom and the Remover of Obstacles.
The Significance of Lord Ganesha: Lord Ganesha is the embodiment of wisdom, prosperity, and the remover of obstacles. His presence is believed to bring good fortune, spiritual growth, and peace. With his elephant head, Ganesha represents intellect, strength, and the power to overcome challenges, making him a revered deity in Hinduism. His image, as seen in this exquisite statue, serves as a constant reminder of the importance of faith, knowledge, and the divine grace that protects and guides us.
Siginificane of Karungali statue:
Karungali wood is highly valued in Hinduism for its mystical qualities. It is thought to absorb and radiate positive energy, which makes it a perfect material for deity statues and spiritual artefacts. The dense and dark characteristics of Karungali wood are symbolic of protection, protecting devotees from evil forces. Worshipping a deity statue made up of Karungali wood creates a strong bond with the divine, as the deity's energy is said to combine with the wood's inherent vibrational energy to enhance the spiritual experience.
