• Ashtabandhanam, the mixture first of its kind in traditional architechtural systems.
• This pooja item is used as adhesive in temples of Southern style. Contains eight natural elements mixed in right proportions, an adhesive prescribed by Shastras to attach the idol (vigraha) to the peeta.
• Usually looks like a red-colour clay containing 8 herbs, mixed with limestone powder, resin, red ochre, beewax and butter.
• Usually used during Kumbabishekam of samprokshanam of temples once in 12 years or in a newly constructed temples.
