Patharthaguna Chinthamani Moolamum Uraiyum - Tamil

Padartha Guna Chintamani is a Tamil medical text which evinces the medical values of eight edible items of plants namely root, bark, leaf, flower, resin, vegetable and seed and the six tastes that they comprise. The book, which details the benefits of the edible parts, is composed by Theraiyar and the book’s text and commentary are compiled by Tirunelveli Kasim Muhaiden Ravuthor.

Theraiyar is one of the eminent Siddhars of Tamil Nadu and has also penned other books namely Neerkuri, Neykuri Satram, and Tailavarukka Summary. Some of these books are the foundation for modern Ayurvedic medicine. A student of Agathiyar, Theraiyar absorbed Agathiyar's entire medical knowledge with devotion.
