Ravana Humbled
In a way, the three tales that are repeated in this Chitra Katha foreshadow the catastrophe that befalls Ravana, the Rakshasa king, when he kidnaps Sita and challenges someone like Rama. These early encounters did not teach Ravana the value of humility. These three encounters - one on the human level, one on the divine level, and one on the simian level - are noteworthy. To Ravana's credit, he emerged from each of these encounters unhurt and with a greater network of allies and supporters.
