Description
Trichur is famous for creation of metal lamps. The unique feature is that it has the mix of both panchamukha kuthuvilakku of Tamilnadu Style and the shape and look of Kerala at the stem and bottom. These lamps are specifically manufactured in parts of Trissur, Kerala. The goblet has five alcoves. The linga shape above the goblet, symbolises shivalinga. Worshipping Sri Lakshmi through this lamp (Vilakku) brings luck and prosperity. Has a thick stem and sturdy round shaped base which supports the entire lamp structure.
