• Thiruppavai is a collection of Tamil devotional religious hymns credited to the female poet-saint Andal (also known as Nachiyar, Kodhai or Goda Devi). She is regarded as Bhudevi's earthly manifestation, having assumed the form of Periyalvar's daughter. She is alleged to have fasted (a "Paavai nonbu") during the month of "Margazhi" (Dhanurmaasam) and written 30 religious hymns at the age of 5 in order to achieve Perumal.
• Thirty stanzas (paasurams) in praise of Thirumal make up the poem (a manifestation of Lord Vishnu).
• It is a portion of Divya Prabandha, a compilation of the writings of the twelve Alvars, which is regarded as a key work in Tamil literature's devotional genre.
• In Thiruppavai, Andal gives a universal call for everyone to recite the name and glory of Lord Vishnu.
• Thiruvempavai is a 143-verse Tamil poem composed by the 7th-century poet-saint, Tirugnanasambandar. It is one of the most important works of Tamil literature and is considered to be a masterpiece of Tamil bhakti poetry. The poem is a praise of the Hindu god Murugan, and it is set in the context of the Tamil festival of Pongal.
• Thirupalliyezhuchi is a Tamil devotional poem composed by the 7th-century poet-saint Thondaradipodi Azhwar. It is a hymn to Lord Ranganatha, a form of the Hindu god Vishnu, who is enshrined at the Srirangam temple in Tamil Nadu, India. The poem is a wake-up call to the Lord, urging him to arise from his slumber and bless his devotees.
