Description
According to Panchayatana puja kramam, the Supreme is divided into pancha tatwams. Each tatwam is represented by a deity. The deity is worshipped in the form sacred stones. One of the pancha tatwam is Jala – Water and the deity invoked is Sri Mahaganapathi. Sri Mahaganapathi is represented by Sonabadra stone – red coloured stone, found in the banks of Sona river of Bihar. This stone contains the qualities of Sri Ganapathi. Performing pooja to this Sonabathra stone, bestows one with the blessings of Sri Mahaganapathi.
