Description
SriKamakshi, the Eswari (SupremeGoddess), the mother of Creation, Sustenance and diminution, worshipped in Kanchipuram, is made of good qualilty brass with figurative features exquisitively carved, with hands holding Sugarcane, paasa angusa and parrot sitting on flowers. She is seen sitting in ardhapadmaaasana. This idol as her name indicates has wide beautiful eyes (Kamaakshi),giving away all wishes to her devotees. The arch behind the deity is uniquely designed. Worshipping her with LalithaTrichadi, Kamakshimoolamantra and Kamakshiashatakam, kamakshivruttham brings her blessings in abundance.
