About the ritual:
Hava, Havya or Havishya are the substances that are offered to the fire. After igniting the fire in the Havan Kund, the offerings of fruits, honey, ghee, wood, etc. are the main items, representing sacrifice of worldy elements and connection to the ancestors as well as the divine. Agni increases the properties of any substance by leaps and bounds. The process of worshiping God through fire in the Kunda is called Yajna. Havan or Yajna is a ritual of purification in Indian tradition or Hinduism. The priest/s while performing, utter the sacred phrase 'Swaha' with every mantra and offering. Havan is mainly conducted for purification, good luck, health, and prosperity.
