Both dance forms encompass the three key elements of Indian classical dance namely Nritta, Nritya, and Natya while they weave stories from mythology, epics, and devotional themes. However, speaking about contrasts, Kathakali, originated in Kerala has dramatic and stylized movements while on the other hand, Kuchipudi which originated in Andhra Pradesh has a lyrical and graceful style.
